This was a request that  involved designing the annual report for Missio Church in Seattle, summarizing the organization’s programs, initiatives, and financials over the course of the past year. The intention was to present a large amount of information in a way that felt clear, engaging, and accessible to a broad audience.


I believed the best course was to start with content organization, structuring information to establish a logical flow and clear hierarchy across sections. Emphasis was placed on readability and navigation, ensuring that key insights could be easily understood at a glance.


Then the visual design was developed to align with Missio’s brand while introducing a more expressive and engaging tone. The flexibility of the brand allowed for the use of unique layouts, graphic elements, and visual moments that helped break up dense content and maintain reader interest. Typography, color, and layout were carefully considered to balance clarity with visual interest, particularly when presenting data-heavy sections such as financial information.


The project places a big emphasis on editorial design, information hierarchy, and visual storytelling, resulting in an annual report that communicates effectively while creating a more engaging reading experience.
